For technical questions, bug reports, and feature requests
Built by one developer. The fastest way to get help is by email — every message is read by the person who wrote the app.
No. AfterAction is independent software. We are not lawyers, doctors, or VA-accredited representatives. The app provides educational information only and does not file claims on your behalf. Always file through VA.gov or work with a VA-accredited Veterans Service Organization (VSO).
Nowhere. Everything stays on your iPhone. No accounts, no cloud sync, no analytics. Even the AI runs locally using Apple's on-device Foundation Models. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
The on-device AI requires iOS 26.0 or later, which provides Apple's Foundation Models framework. On iOS 18–25 the app uses a sample-data demo mode so the rest of the app remains usable. Update your iPhone to iOS 26 (or use a device that supports it) to unlock real AI insights tailored to your service profile.
The Support Pack ($4.99) and Founder tip ($9.99) are cosmetic only. They unlock a Supporter (or Founder) ribbon at the front of your dashboard ribbon row. Nothing functional is gated. Both are family-shareable. Buying is a way to back continued development; if you'd rather not, every feature is free.
Open the Journal tab, tap the share icon, choose your date range, and tap Generate PDF. The exported file is formatted for VA submission and includes a disclaimer that it was self-reported via AfterAction.
Open Learn → Tools → Statement 21-4138 Auto-Draft, enter the condition you're claiming, choose an evidence window (last 30, 60, 90, 180, or 365 days), and tap Generate. The app pulls entries from your symptom journal, summarizes patterns in VA-aligned language, and presents an editable draft. Read it carefully and edit anything that doesn't match your experience before exporting as a PDF.
Open Settings → Security and toggle on Lock with Face ID. The app will then require Face ID every time it returns from the background. The Veterans Crisis Line button on the lock screen remains tappable even when the app is locked.
Yes. Settings → Reminders has a clear off-toggle and a snooze menu (1, 3, 7, or 30 days). Reminders never re-enable themselves silently. We deliberately built this because review feedback on similar apps consistently mentions reminders that won't stop.
No. Once earned, ribbons stay for life. Your active streak resets if you miss a day, but your longest streak (and every milestone ribbon you've crossed) is permanent.
These are validated screening tools, not diagnoses. A high score is a meaningful signal, not a verdict. Bring the score to your VA or civilian healthcare provider, or a VA-accredited VSO, for clinical evaluation. If you are in crisis, please use the Veterans Crisis Line below.
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support. We don't receive payment information and cannot process refunds directly.
The roadmap on the radar — driven by what veterans tell us in reviews — includes Lock Screen and Home Screen widgets for one-tap logging, alternate app icons for Supporters, Apple Watch quick-log, validated tinnitus questionnaire (THI), Spanish localization, and (carefully) integration with Apple Health Clinical Records. Email if there's a specific feature you'd find helpful.
When you email about a bug, please include:
• iPhone model and iOS version (Settings → General → About)
• What you were doing when it happened
• What you expected to happen
• What actually happened
• A screenshot if possible
Call the Veterans Crisis Line: dial 988, then press 1. Text 838255. Free, confidential, 24/7. Many responders are veterans themselves.
