Tether Companion

🔒 Data we collect

Tether collects no data from you. The app does not connect to external servers for its core functionality.

Everything you enter — your name, your goals, your check-in responses, and your conversation with your companion — is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework.

🧠 AI processing

Tether uses Apple Intelligence (on-device Foundation Models) to power your companion conversations. This means:

• All AI inference runs locally on your device
• Your conversation text never leaves your iPhone
• No third-party AI provider processes your data
• Requires iOS 18.1+ with Apple Intelligence enabled

📊 Analytics & advertising

Tether does not use any third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or tracking frameworks. There are no ads in the app.

🍎 Apple services

If you purchase a Tether Pro subscription, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Tether never sees your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs those transactions.

👤 Your rights

Because all data is stored on your device:

• You can delete all app data at any time by deleting the app
• There is no account to close — nothing is stored on our servers
• We have no ability to access, modify, or delete your data

🚨 Crisis safety

Tether includes a safety layer that may recognize language indicating distress and surface emergency resources (such as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). This detection runs entirely on-device. No data is transmitted as part of this feature.
